Our Response
In Kenya, millions of families face unsafe housing, poor sanitation, and limited access to clean water—challenges that keep entire communities trapped in cycles of poverty. Shelter Equity partners with local organizations and community leaders to confront these issues where the need is greatest.
Our work starts with housing, creating safe, stable homes that provide families with protection, security, and a foundation to thrive. Alongside housing, we integrate water and sanitation solutions, ensuring families have access to clean water and safe facilities—vital for health, especially in rural areas where resources are most limited.
We also provide transportation support through bicycles, giving children the ability to attend school and parents the chance to reach work and healthcare more easily.
Every project is built with sustainability in mind—using local materials, empowering local workers, and ensuring that families and communities have ownership. This way, the solutions last for generations, helping to break cycles of poverty and create opportunities for the future.
